‘The Recess’ to be screened at SIFF 2021-Bisceglie

The Salento International Film Festival (SIFF 2021- Bisceglie) in Italy has been set to host acclaimed Iranian short flick ‘The Recess’.

Written, produced and directed by Navid Nikkhah-Azad, ‘The Recess’ will be shown at the Short-Films In Streaming section of the 18th edition of the Italian event.

The 12-minute film tells the story of a 17-year-old school-girl who runs away from school to watch the football match of her beloved club.

Sahar, along with three of her friends, is planning to exit the school during the break in order to watch the match between Esteghlal FC and Al Ain FC at Azadi Sports Complex.

Mozhan Kordi, Reyhaneh Naieean, Niloufar Shokouhinia, and Ghazal Khalili are on the cast list.

Kordi won the award for the best performance for her role in ‘The Recess’ at the 33rd Living Skies Student Film Festival in Canada.

The film has already toured a number of global film events including, the Oxford Film Festival and the Garden State Film Festival, both in the US, and the Sofia MENAR Film Festival in Bulgaria.

The Salento International Film Festival aims to promote films from around the world in order to be a link between cultures.

The SIFF 2021-Bisceglie is slated for September 07-12.
